Links with the Community
The RHS Connected Communities project gave us funding in 2023 to start a project linking Growing Matters with Athelstaneford Primary School. So far we have had two very enjoyable Spring and Summer seasons with school visits, and these are due to resume on 19th September 2024. When weather conditions prevent the school coming to the garden we try to visit them. Last year we provided screen printing materials and art sessions so they could produce printed bags with leaf motifs for sale at the Christmas Fair. This was a very successful way of keeping the connection going through the winter.
