Growing Matters
Welcome to Growing Matters, a charity run by volunteers for volunteers that is developing an old kitchen garden on the Gilmerton Estate in rural East Lothian – learning, enjoying and growing as we go.
The Garden
Volunteers have worked together to bring this once-derelict kitchen garden in East Lothian back to life. They have helped create a beautiful and productive garden where people and plants are able to flourish. Since 2016, our aim has been to provide a space where people and plants can grow – a perfect place for the nurture of Health and Wellbeing, and the promotion of Biodiversity and Sustainability.
Open Day
Sunday 23rd August 12-4pm
Our annual open day offers the opportunity to visit this beautiful garden and see the amazing work our volunteers have been doing.

Lucky Dip
Make willow snails and bird feeders
Tea or coffee + cake (£5)
Wheelchair access now available.
Cash is preferable.
Dogs welcome on a lead.
All donations are welcome.
